What is the best Season to go to Idyllic Samui?

On social media channels like facebook we often read when is the best time to go to Koh Samui? What does the weather do in November? Can anyone tell me what the weather is doing on Koh Samui?

And so we can give more examples of what kind of questions we see coming along on facebook.

Also at the reception desk at the resort we regularly get questions like what is the weather doing in the coming week? And if it rains, how long will it rain?

When you ask a Thai about the weather he probably shrugs his shoulders and says he doesn't know.

In addition, it can rain very hard in Fishermans Village or Chaweng while on the private beach of Idyllic Samui Resort the guests are still lying in the sun.

A nice fact is that the location where Idyllic Samui Resort is located has the least rainfall on Koh Samui.

What is the BEST period to go to Koh Samui?

Koh Samui has a clear distinction between the wet season and the dry season. The dry months on Koh Samui show almost no rain, while some months in the monsoon show so much downpour that it sometimes doesn’t seem that it will ever stop raining.

Whereas until a few years ago one could clearly demarcate the periods with dry season or rainy season this has changed considerably in recent years.

Climate changes are "probably" the cause of these noticeable weather changes on Koh Samui.

The biggest difference is that the dry months get drier and the wet months get much wetter with much heavier rainfall.

We also notice that during, the previously always very well described, the seasons are changing. Examples are, very heavy rainfall in the dry season. And this not in the form of a shower which we can always expect in the dry season but we are talking about persistent rain for a period of 5 days. Another clear example is that during a longer period we had to deal with clear blue skies as if we were in the dry season while we were really in the middle of the wet season.

Of course, January through May, the dry season, is naturally the least likely to see much rain. October and Noverber are most likely to see persistent rain

United Nations has been working on the border with Laos since 2019 to help people live more safely.

Here on koh samui we are not the only ones to notice changes in the weather. After 200 people were killed on the border with Thailand and Laos due to climate change, the UN is in the process of designating safe places to settle due to heavy rains.
